Licences and credits
What this site is built from, who made it, and how the format names used throughout are meant to be read.
FFmpeg
Every conversion on this site is performed by FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly. FFmpeg is free software developed by the FFmpeg project and distributed under the LGPL version 2.1 or later, with parts of it — including the x264 encoder used to produce H.264 video — under the GPL version 2 or later. The build used here is subject to those licences, and the corresponding source is published by the FFmpeg project and by the ffmpeg.wasm project.
This website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FFmpeg project. FFmpeg is a trademark of Fabrice Bellard, its originator.
ffmpeg.wasm
The WebAssembly build and its JavaScript wrapper come from the ffmpeg.wasm project, which is distributed under the MIT licence. The packages are loaded at version-pinned URLs from unpkg, a public host for npm packages.
Typography and icons
No web font is loaded. Text is set in whichever interface typeface your operating system already provides, so no font is redistributed by this site and no font licence applies. The small number of icons and the site mark are original SVG drawings made for this site.
Format and trademark names
This site refers to file formats and to the software that reads them so that visitors can find the tool they need. Those names belong to their owners and are used descriptively only. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement is claimed or implied by any of them.

Codec patents
H.264 and AAC, which several converters here produce, are covered by patents in a number of countries. Licensing obligations for encoding and distribution rest with the person doing the encoding, not with this site. If you are encoding at commercial scale, take advice on whether a licence applies to you.
This site's own name and content
The written guides, page copy, layout and code of this website were produced for it and are its own work. The domain name describes the conversion the site performs and is used descriptively. No trademark search has been carried out on it, and nothing on this page should be read as a claim that the name is registered or free of third-party rights.
