Disclaimer
What this site does not promise, and where the responsibility sits.
Keep your original files
Treat every conversion as producing a new file, never as replacing an old one. Video files vary enormously in how they are built, and some will fail to convert, convert partially, or produce output with a defect that is not obvious until later. Do not delete a source file until you have played the result all the way through and confirmed it is what you expected.
This site is not a backup service and holds no copy of anything you convert, so a file lost on your side cannot be recovered from here.
No guarantee of a particular result
The converters are provided as they are. We do not promise that any given file will convert, that the output will meet a specific quality standard, that conversion will complete within a particular time, or that the site will be available when you need it. Results depend heavily on your device, your browser and the structure of your source file.
Technical information on this site
The guides and command-line examples published here are written to be accurate and are tested against real files, but they are general technical information rather than advice for your specific situation. Software changes, and a command that works today may behave differently under a future version of FFmpeg. Verify anything important against the official documentation for the version you are running, and test on a copy before using it on material you cannot replace.
You are responsible for what you convert
Nothing here grants you any right over the material you process. It is your responsibility to hold the necessary rights to the video and audio you convert, and to comply with the law that applies where you are. This site cannot and does not check what any file contains, because no file is ever received by us.
Not legal advice
The privacy policy, cookie policy, terms of use and this page describe how the site is built and operated in good faith. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by a lawyer in any particular jurisdiction. If you need certainty about your obligations, or ours, consult a qualified professional.
